The Magical Kingdom of Cotton Falls is home to so many interesting and noble creatures. As a little girl, I grew up in my own magical kingdom, a lovely country manor on a wide expanse of farmland in Scotland. My village was so small you couldn’t even find it on a map! But I was such a wee lass that I could get lost roaming around the fields, climbing hills that seemed big as mountains. One of my favorites spots to play pretend was the big pond far away from the house. Hundreds of years ago, a grand king stopped and set up camp with his army there. I would run through the orchard, hopping over fallen apples (and sometimes stepping on a rotten one by accident!) pretending to be a brave princess, defending her homeland and all the people she loved! The shade of the high stone wall covered with creeping green ivy was just the place for cooling off in the summer, and my mommy would give me a big glass of ice-cold apple juice and a book to read after playing all afternoon. I especially loved any book by Beatrix Potter, or I’d read my sister’s favorite, Charlotte’s Web. The bees bumbled around me while I sat and read, taking pollen from the raspberry to the gooseberry bushes, doing his little job as best as he could.

There were others on the farm, too! My beautiful horse, Sandy, would gallop to me every day when I came outside to brush his long, fawn-colored mane. With a book in my backpack wherever I went, I was never too far from adventure. Even if I was sitting in the wildflowers, Sandy and the herd of cows and fluffy sheep grazing nearby, I could picture a gurgling swamp or a majestic castle ready to host a ball. Now I’m all grown up and I get to share all my stories with you! I hope you have fun going on an adventure in Cotton Falls!
